This update introduces a transition of UniScan Web to an annual subscription model.

UniScan Web enables the conversion of an iPhone, iPod Touch, or iPad into an ID card or barcode scanning device, facilitating the extraction and storage of ID numbers or barcode data into specified fields within web forms. Additionally, it offers an option to append scanned data directly to a URL.

Key features include:

• Configuration of scan strings, including start position and length settings
• Support for both POST and GET HTTP requests
• Barcode scanning through the device’s built-in camera
• Presetting a home URL and specifying target URLs for data transmission
• Ability to browse web pages and automatically populate fields based on scanned data
• Flexible operation—either within the app interface or externally via a browser
• A comprehensive set of customizable settings to adapt the application to various environments

Note: UniScan Web requires compatible third-party hardware (barcode or magnetic stripe scanners), which must be purchased separately. The hardware compatibility list includes:

• IDTech iMag for iPhones and iPod Touch
• IDTech iMag Pro Magnetic Stripe Reader (30-pin)
• IDTech iMag Pro II Magnetic Stripe Reader (Lightning port)
• UniMag and UniMag Pro Mobile MagStripe Readers
• Honeywell Captuvo series (SL22, SL42, SL62) barcode scanners and magnetic stripe readers
• Linea-Pro series portable barcode scanners and magstripe readers
• Infinea Tab models
• KoamTac KDC series barcode data collectors (KDC300, KDC200, KDC415, KDC20, and respective variants)
